An exciting OS — Windows 7

October 15th, 2009 at 20:42

October 22th! Microsoft has officially confirmed the release time of Windows 7.

Recently, Win7 has focused everyone’s attention. Many users would like to learn more info about it. Here I make comparison of Win7 and Microsoft previous OS, and list the advantage of Win7. Hope it could help you to learn more about Win7.

Windows 7’s strength compared with previous versions

1. System runs faster

Window 7 improves the system start-up time, and the time from the sleep state to running state has also been improved, which makes win7 run more rapid.

2. More personalized desktop

In Windows 7, users can do more operations and personalized settings on their desktop. For example, there are too many types of desktop wallpaper, when you don’t know which one to elect, Win7 could help you solve this problem. Now, users can simultaneously select more than one type of wallpaper and let them slide on the desktop like PowerPoint. Besides, you can also set the speed of sliding.

3. New designed toolbar

Once access to Windows 7, you will note the new designed toolbar at the bottom of the screen. This tool bar has been used since Windows 95, until today, has substantive change in Windows 7. All the applications on the toolbar are no longer with text description, only have a icon, move the mouse over the icon, there will be a thumbnail of the opened window, click it again will open the window.

4. Powerful Windows Media Center

Windows Media Center not only makes the users enable to manage pictures, music and video easily, but also is a customizable personal television. As long as the computer connected to the network, or plugged in a TV tuner card, you can enjoy varieties of Internet video or high-definition digital TV programs anywhere at any time through Windows Media Center. At the same time, you can also connect Windows Media Center with TV, so that it could bring a whole new experience while using the TV.

5. Very futuristic Windows Touch

One of the core users’ experiences is supported by touching screen to control the computer. You can control a computer like the science fiction movies. This is indeed an exciting thing.

6. Two new features

Windows 7 through the Libraries and Homegroups, two major new features, improves the Windows network.

7. A higher level of user security mechanism

User Account Control, this concept was first introduced by Windows Vista. Although it could provide a higher level of safety and security, but the frequent pop-up prompt window makes some users feel inconvenienced. In Windows 7, Microsoft innovate this security features, not only significantly reduce the frequency of prompt window’s appearance, but also the user will have greater freedom while setting it. In addition, Internet Explorer 8 that comes with Windows 7, are safer than the previous versions.

8. Super Hardware Compatibility and Higher system requirements

Microsoft–leader of IT industry, Windows 7’s birth means that the entire information system will face a full upgrade. Although some products can be used in the win7, such as PCHand Screen Capture, many products can’t. So the hardware and software manufacturers will also face more challenges and more opportunities.
